Ceramic Skillet Use

We have now owned our Safepan ceramic skillet for over a month, and I have to say this is my favorite skillet ever!   To use this skillet, heat it on high for 60 seconds.  Then add a fat source (I use ghee), spread it around in the skillet, and turn the heat down to the desired temperature.  You now have an amazing non-stick pan without the danger of chemicals leeching into your food.  After cooking, let the pan cool and clean it with a sponge and dish soap.  Allow to dry thoroughly before storing.

We use this skillet several times a day, so we are adapted to the heating and seasoning method and no longer have to think through the process.  Prior to choosing this particular brand, we researched other brands and found that for the price range, this one was the best bet.  Reviewers who criticized the pan usually admitted to not having seasoned it as they should, which resulted in premature loss of the ceramic coating.

Now that it's so easy to reheat food using this skillet, our microwave use has gone down dramatically, so we're enjoying that added health benefit as well.  I call this a win-win purchase!

Be seasoned.

UPDATE:   Our skillet has now survived over three years of daily use, and the ceramic finish is still like new.  I am duly impressed!
